Sniper Ops is a free sniper puzzle game built on one idea: the briefing describes exactly one person in the scene, and everybody else is a near-miss. Scan a night city block through a scope, cross-reference jacket colour, headwear, carried item, role and floor, then steady the crosshair, hold your breath, hold off for the wind and take the shot. 30 missions, six objective types and an armoury of permanent upgrades no download, no sign-up.

🕹️How do you play Sniper Ops online?

  1. 1Read the dossier chips before anything else. They describe one person, and only one person in the whole scene fits all of them.
  2. 2Move the crosshair with the mouse; the view pans when you reach the edge. On touch, drag the scene and the crosshair stays centred.
  3. 3Scroll, pinch, or use the + and buttons to zoom. The rifle will not fire until the scope is engaged.
  4. 4Hold Space, or the BREATH button, to cut the scope sway. The meter empties in a few seconds and you gasp if you run it dry.
  5. 5Check the wind gauge at the top. The dart drifts downwind for its whole flight, and the drift grows fast with range.
  6. 6Fire only when you are certain. Tagging a bystander ends the mission at once; a miss raises the alarm, and four misses lets the target walk.

📋What are the rules of Sniper Ops?

  • Exactly one person in every scene satisfies the whole briefing. That is guaranteed by the generator, not by luck.
  • Every other figure matches all-but-one of the named attributes, so a single clue can never identify anyone on its own.
  • Shots below the scope-engaged zoom are refused rather than sent wide the game will not let you waste a dart on a wild snap shot.
  • The dart takes time to arrive: roughly a third of a second at 240 m, and about two seconds at 1,400 m. Walking targets have to be led.
  • Crosswind drift accumulates over the whole flight, so it scales with range far faster than it does with wind strength.
  • Hitting a bystander fails the mission outright. A miss adds 30 to the alarm; at 100 the target is gone.
  • On No Witnesses missions the shot fails if anyone else is standing near the target at the moment the dart lands.
  • Score comes from targets tagged, range, darts left, time, an untriggered alarm and how close to centre mass each dart landed. Stars are fixed fractions of the level ceiling, so three stars means the same thing on mission 3 and mission 30.

💡What are the best tips for winning at Sniper Ops?

  • Zoom out and sweep the whole block before you zoom in on anybody. The minimap in the corner shows how much you have not looked at yet.
  • Work the rarest clue first. "Floor 3" or "on a balcony" cuts the crowd to a handful in one pass; a jacket colour rarely does.
  • Breath is not free. Line the crosshair up roughly first, then hold. Starting the hold while you are still searching wastes the whole meter.
  • At long range the wind matters more than your aim. Watch the gauge for a beat it wanders, and there is usually a calm moment worth waiting for.
  • Buy Field Intel early. It never points at the target, but greying out everyone who fails the first clue turns a twenty-person scene into a five-person one.
  • On moving targets, aim where the target will be, not where it is. At 960 m the dart is in the air well over a second, which is several strides.
  • A failed mission still teaches you the scene. The seed is fixed, so the same person is in the same window on your next attempt.

ℹ️What is Sniper Ops?

Sniper Ops belongs to the small family of browser sniper games that are really deduction puzzles the shape that The Sniper Code and Hitman Sniper made popular, where the interesting decision is not where to point the rifle but which of the twenty people on screen the briefing actually means. The hard part of building one is that randomising a crowd does not produce a puzzle. With eight jacket colours and seven carried items, a two-clue description lands on a unique person by accident, and the player never has to cross-reference anything. So this generator works backwards. It picks the target first, decides which attributes the dossier will name, and then builds every other figure in the scene as a deliberate near-miss that matches all but one of them. Five people wear the red jacket. Four carry the briefcase. One does both. Around that sit the systems that make the shot itself worth taking: breathing sway you steady with a limited lung meter, a crosswind that pushes the dart for its whole flight so range punishes you far harder than wind speed does, walking targets that have to be led, windows that only show their occupant in bursts, and missions where one bystander standing too close is enough to blow it. Thirty missions across four chapters, six objective types, six permanent upgrades bought with mission credits, and stars scored as fixed fractions of each level ceiling so a three-star run means the same thing everywhere. FAQ

How many missions does Sniper Ops have?+
Thirty, across four chapters: First Contact (1–7), Harbour Lights (8–14), Night Traffic (15–22) and Endgame (23–30). Each awards up to three stars, for 90 in total, and progress is saved in your browser.
How do I find the right target?+
Cross-reference. Every clue in the dossier is shared by several people, and only one person satisfies all of them at once. Start with the clue that narrows the scene fastest — a floor number or a position beats a jacket colour — then check the survivors against the rest.
Why will the rifle not fire?+
The scope is not engaged. Zoom in past the halfway mark and the reticle sharpens, the sway starts and the trigger works. It is deliberate: it stops you spending a dart on a shot you could not have aimed.
How does the wind work?+
A crosswind pushes the dart sideways for the whole time it is in the air, so drift grows with flight time, and flight time grows with range. A stiff wind at 240 m is nearly harmless; the same wind at 1,400 m moves the dart most of a body width. Hold off into the wind, or buy match-grade darts and the Optics tier that draws the hold-off marker for you.
What happens if I hit the wrong person?+
The mission ends immediately. Missing entirely is less severe: it adds 30 to the alarm meter, and the target only leaves once the alarm reaches 100, which takes four misses.
What should I buy first in the armoury?+
Field Intel if you find the puzzle hard, the Bipod and Stabiliser if you find the shot hard. Intel greys out everyone failing the first clues without ever pointing at the target; the stabiliser cuts scope sway, which compounds through every later mission because sway is felt more the further you zoom.
Can I play Sniper Ops on mobile?+
Yes. Drag anywhere to pan the scene, pinch to zoom, hold the BREATH button to steady the crosshair and tap FIRE. The crosshair stays at the centre of the screen on touch, so your thumb never covers the target.
Is Sniper Ops free?+
Yes — it runs in your browser with no download, no install and no sign-up. Missions, stars, credits and upgrades are stored locally in your browser, so clearing site data resets the campaign.
