Aether Arrows is a free logic puzzle in which you rotate arrow tiles to steer a glowing mote through every gold glyph and out through the exit. Twenty handcrafted levels on grids from 3×3 to 6×6, with stars for solving in fewer rotations. No download, no sign-up.
🕹️How do you play Aether Arrows online?
- 1Every tile on the grid holds an arrow. Tap or click a tile to turn its arrow 90° clockwise.
- 2Tiles with a lock have a fixed direction and cannot be rotated — plan your route around them.
- 3The mote starts on the start tile and moves one tile at a time in the direction of each arrow it lands on.
- 4Set the arrows so its path crosses every gold glyph and then finishes on the purple exit.
- 5Press Weave Path to send the mote. Testing a route is free — only rotations count towards your stars.
- 6Use Undo to take back a rotation, Reset to restore the level, or one of the three hints each level gives you.
📋What are the rules of Aether Arrows?
- ▸A level is solved when the mote reaches the exit after passing through every glyph.
- ▸The run fails if the mote leaves the grid or finishes without collecting every glyph.
- ▸The path may cross the same tile more than once, but arriving on a tile heading the same way twice is an infinite loop and ends the run.
- ▸Stars depend on how many rotations you used: each level sets a target for three stars and for two stars, and any solution earns at least one.
- ▸Solving a level unlocks the next one. Stars and unlocked levels are saved in your browser.
💡What are the best tips for winning at Aether Arrows?
- ★Work backwards from the exit: decide which tile must point into it, then which tile must point into that one.
- ★Trace the route with your eyes before pressing Weave Path — every rotation you avoid keeps a star within reach.
- ★Locked tiles are clues. They show part of the intended route, so build your plan around them.
- ★If the mote loops, find the tile where the path first turned back on itself; rotating that one usually breaks the cycle.
- ★Save hints for the larger 6×6 levels, where a pointer to the next missing glyph saves the most time.
ℹ️What is Aether Arrows?
Aether Arrows belongs to the family of path-programming puzzles: instead of moving a character directly, you arrange the world and then watch the result play out. Every arrow tile is an instruction, and the grid as a whole is a small program that the mote runs one step at a time. That is what makes the puzzles interesting. A rotation near the start changes everything that follows, glyphs placed in corners force the route to double back, and locked tiles remove the easy options, so there is usually one clean solution to find. The twenty levels are built by hand, starting with a two-glyph 3×3 tutorial and working up to 6×6 boards with several glyphs and locked tiles. Because testing a route with Weave Path costs nothing, the game encourages experimenting at first; the star targets then push you to find the answer with as few rotations as possible, which usually means reasoning backwards from the exit instead of forwards from the start.
